“Heaven Help the Child”

I awoke this morning to a hazy gray day in Los Angeles. As I shivered ever so slightly on my way to to the coffee shop I listened to this cover of the 1973 Mickey Newbury track on my headphones. An intimate epic, ”Heaven Help the Child” is mournfully bittersweet, intimating something lost, and yet suggests a glimmer of hopeful possibility.
